Paver Repair in Fort Myers, FL
The most common call we get in Fort Myers is someone who noticed a paver sinking near their pool drain, a driveway section that’s starting to rock underfoot, or an edge that caught someone’s foot on the way to the mailbox. These aren’t cosmetic issues. Uneven pavers are a genuine liability — especially around pool decks where bare feet are the norm.
Fort Myers is harder on paver foundations than most people realize. The city sits on sandy fill over a water table that fluctuates with rainfall. When that sand shifts — and it does, every rainy season — the pavers above it shift too. Add tree root intrusion, vehicle weight on driveways, and thermal expansion from year-round UV, and you have a surface that needs more than just cleaning.
Pro Tip:
Address sinking pavers before sealing. We see homeowners every year who had their pavers sealed over a soft spot, then the section sank further and the seal cracked with it. Repair first, seal second. Every time.

What We Fix in Fort Myers
- Sunken pavers — Most common around pool drains, driveway aprons, and irrigation heads where water concentrates.
- Shifting pavers — Sections that have moved laterally or started to separate, leaving gaps or uneven edges.
- Trip hazards — Any raised edge over a quarter inch gets flagged and leveled.
- Root damage — Tree roots pushing pavers up from below, especially common in McGregor corridor and Villas.
- Cracked pavers — Individual cracked units replaced with matching pavers.
- Edge failures — Border pavers and soldier course edges that have lost restraint and started migrating.
How We Fix It — The Right Way
- Lift affected pavers carefully to preserve them for reinstallation where possible
- Excavate and inspect the base — identify whether the issue is sand erosion, root intrusion, or inadequate compaction
- Re-grade and recompact the base material, adding road base or bedding sand as needed
- Reset pavers to original level and alignment
- Refill all joints with polymeric sand — this prevents the problem from recurring within a year
- Clean the repaired section and seal to match surrounding pavers
Important:
If your pavers are cracking due to vehicle weight, the issue may be the original installation — pavers intended for foot traffic installed on driveways with insufficient base depth. We’ll tell you if that’s the case.

Fort Myers Communities Where We Do Regular Repair Work
- Gateway — Large concrete driveways settle over time, especially near irrigation zones.
- McGregor corridor — Mature trees mean root intrusion is a regular issue on older properties.
- North Fort Myers along the river — Older homes with original 1990s/2000s pavers often need full base restoration.
- Lehigh Acres — Newer construction; drainage issues and soil settling common in the first 3-5 years.
- Cape Coral canals — Water table fluctuations directly affect paver stability on canal-front properties.
- Iona, Whiskey Creek, South Fort Myers — Root intrusion from larger shade trees is the primary repair driver.

Yet again, I continue to be very pleased with the Paver Protectors! These folks are my go to for anything related to paver/sidewalk cleaning and/or sealing. I have been using them for 6-7 years now and couldn’t be more satisfied. Adam C. was today’s technician and he was great! I would highly recommend Jeff and his team at Paver Protectors to anyone needing their pavers or sidewalks cleaned/sealed. 5 star service every time!

These guys did a terrific job! They had to level our pavers and so they had to lift all the pavers around the pool, add sand and then put all the pavers back down. They also replaced our 2 inch drain with a 3 inch drain which was a tough job to do! They arrived on time at 8:30 and were finished by 5pm.
They did such a good job that we have scheduled them to power wash and seal both our lanai and our driveway!
Thanks Larry and Dennis!

Alissa was very pleasant and helpful in arranging the cleaning and sealing of our patio pavers. She clearly answered questions and promptly prepared an estimate for me. Similarly, Junior was great to deal with at our home. He explained the process to me and discussed the timeline on when to use the patio after treatment. He took care in the cleaning of the pavers and application of sealer. He also checked if I had any questions. Our patio now looks refreshed with the more vibrant colours that previously looked faded. I am very pleased with the total experience with Paver Protectirs and would highly recommend them!

Frequently Asked Questions — Paver Repair in Fort Myers
Sandy substrate plus a fluctuating water table. When the base sand erodes under heavy rain or gets displaced by roots, the pavers above follow.
Yes — almost always. We lift, re-grade the base, reset, resand, and seal. Replacement is only needed when pavers are cracked beyond repair.
Any edge raised more than a quarter inch is a hazard. If you can feel a lip walking barefoot across your pool deck or driveway, call us.
Always. We never seal over a structural problem. Repair first, then clean and seal. In that order, every time.
Vehicle weight, root intrusion, or impact. Fort Myers’ sandy soil also allows slight flex under heavy loads, which stresses pavers over time.
Small jobs start in the low hundreds. Larger structural repairs cost more. Free in-person quote — call (239) 288-0705.
