Paver Restoration in Naples, FL
The most common restoration call we get from Naples is a homeowner whose travertine pool deck turned white after being sealed. They hired someone — sometimes a pool company, sometimes a pressure washing crew — who applied a film-forming acrylic sealer to the travertine. Looks great for a few months. Then the Naples heat and humidity get to it, and the sealer starts to lift. the start of the white pavers naples homeowners call us about most often.
This is extremely common in Naples, and it’s fixable without replacing the travertine. But it requires stripping the failed sealer completely — not sealing over it — and using the right product the second time. the standard fix for failed paver sealer naples fl properties every time.
Important:
If your travertine or pavers are white, hazy, or peeling, do not let anyone seal over the existing coating. Adding a new layer of sealer over a failed one compounds the problem and makes it significantly harder and more expensive to fix. The old sealer has to come off first. Once it’s stripped and treated, a proper paver cleaning and sealing in Naples finish is what locks in the result.

What Causes Sealer Failure in Naples
- Wrong sealer for travertine — Film-forming acrylic sealers delaminate from natural stone in high humidity. Travertine needs a penetrating impregnating sealer.
- Sealing over moisture — Naples humidity means surfaces hold moisture longer than they appear to. Sealing before fully dry traps moisture under the coating.
- Heat application — Surface temperatures above 90°F (daily in Naples May through October) cause premature curing, bubbling, and adhesion failure.
- Wrong applicator experience — Pressure washing and general contractors frequently attempt paver sealing without understanding surface chemistry.
Why us?
Our Restoration Process for Naples Pavers
- Apply professional-grade sealer stripper — Formulated for the specific surface type (travertine vs. concrete).
- Work the stripper in and allow full dwell time — We don't rush this step; incomplete dwell means incomplete removal.
- Pressure wash broken-down sealer off the surface completely, then inspect.
- Treat any efflorescence, salt deposits, or staining that was masked by the failed sealer.
- Allow minimum 24-hour dry time — Surface temperature and humidity measured before we proceed.
- Apply correct sealer for surface type: penetrating impregnating sealer for travertine; enhancing water-based sealer for concrete pavers.
Pro Tip:
After restoration, pavers almost always look better than before the failed seal job. The stripping process removes years of built-up oxidation, salt residue, and grime. Most Naples homeowners are genuinely surprised how good their original stone looks once it’s clean, especially on properties that also needed paver repair in Naples for cracked tiles or settled sections beforehand.

Travertine Restoration vs. Concrete Paver Restoration

Travertine
Natural stone stripper, careful pressure, penetrating impregnating sealer for final coat. Goal is a natural matte finish that protects without changing the look of the stone.

Concrete brick pavers
Standard sealer stripper, thorough pressure washing, enhancing water-based sealer that deepens color and adds subtle sheen. Joint resanding with polymeric sand before sealing.
Naples Areas Where We Do Restoration Work Regularly
- Pelican Bay — Travertine pool decks sealed incorrectly by previous companies; our most common Naples restoration job, and where most of our travertine restoration naples fl work happens.
- Grey Oaks — Concrete driveway pavers over-sealed with film-forming products that need stripping.
- Lely Resort and The Isles of Collier Preserve — Newer communities where contractors used wrong sealers at installation.
- Quail West and Mediterra — Luxury travertine and natural stone; detail work critical.
- Port Royal and Aqualane Shores — Salt air accelerates sealer breakdown; restoration here often recurs every 2 years without proper maintenance.

These guys did a terrific job! They had to level our pavers and so they had to lift all the pavers around the pool, add sand and then put all the pavers back down. They also replaced our 2 inch drain with a 3 inch drain which was a tough job to do! They arrived on time at 8:30 and were finished by 5pm.
They did such a good job that we have scheduled them to power wash and seal both our lanai and our driveway!
Thanks Larry and Dennis!

Alissa was very pleasant and helpful in arranging the cleaning and sealing of our patio pavers. She clearly answered questions and promptly prepared an estimate for me. Similarly, Junior was great to deal with at our home. He explained the process to me and discussed the timeline on when to use the patio after treatment. He took care in the cleaning of the pavers and application of sealer. He also checked if I had any questions. Our patio now looks refreshed with the more vibrant colours that previously looked faded. I am very pleased with the total experience with Paver Protectirs and would highly recommend them!
