Paver Sealing is something that is done to enhance the beauty of your pavers or travertine. Sealing also helps protect the surface from the elements and makes the surface stain resistant.
When sealing is done improperly, problems can occur. The most notable problem is trapped moisture or what the industry calls Whiting.
This happens when a solvent or high-solids sealer is used in a southern tropical climate. Moisture gets trapped underneath the sealer and gives it a white haze or blemish.
This detracts from the beauty of the brick and looks horrible.
At Paver Protectors, we educate our prospective clients about this when we do our on site evaluation and estimate.
Our sealers are breathable and our process enables us to clean and seal WITHOUT the risk of "whiting" and WE GUARANTEE IT !
If you have whiting from old sealant, we have a solution!
Our paver restoration process can eliminate the whiting, remove the old sealant, and re seal to bring back the beauty and color of your pavers.
First thing we do is consult with you and identify the problem and educate you on how we can fix it. We will discuss details such as the process and pricing. This is done during our onsite evaluation/consultation.
Begin Restoration Process
The day of the appointment we will begin by stripping off the old sealer. This takes a lot of time and attention to detail. We get every nook & cranny in order to restore your pavers correctly.
Clean Up and Re-Seal
Once the old sealer is removed, we rinse everything down and prep the area to be sealed. We then re-seal the entire area with our high quality, breathable sealer. With the whiting gone, the beauty and color of the brick can now be seen
What does "Whiting" or Trapped Moisture Look Like?
